Raya Taormina

Wandered in looking for a quiet dinner off the main drag. Courtyard outdoor dining room was lovely, but fussy metal chairs/tables and gold flatwear . Service was a little slow with only 2? waiters but several bussers who couldn't do more as the place got busy. Had Pasta al Norma (really great) and Spaghetti alla Vongole (rather bland with de-shelled (!?) clams in a huge fussy pressed glass bowl--not a good look). Enjoyed the evening as the place filled up and we waited to leave...for a while. But a very nice setting.

I am an Italian American and it was my first time visiting Taormina. My family is from a small town with incredible food and delicacies. I was nervous visiting Taormina because I was worried many restaurants would be a tourist trap. We found Raya and absolutely loved our experience! I absolutely recommend eating here in the garden for a beautiful ambience. The food was outstanding and the service was the best I’ve ever had in Italy. Everyone was so attentive and kind. We will return one day!

Exquisite! Had a fabulous dinner which included cocktails,a bottle of wine and after dinner liquors. From the moment you are greeted the service is incredible and very attentive. The food was beyond exquisite, many compliments to the chef! The pasta dish with rabbit ragu is exceptional, the rich flavors of the ragu blended so elegantly with the tenderness of the pasta is amazing. The texture of the ravioli filled with the tenderness of the grouper is delicious. The calamari fritta is tender with a lightly breaded crunch to it. Try the tiramisu and the beautiful trio of different flavored cannoli's you will not be disappointed. Coffee and grappa after dinner highly recommend! The entire staff go out of their way including the owner Valentina who stops by your table to converse with you.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Back in May, after a full day of surf kiting under the Sicilian sun, we found ourselves at Restaurant & Lounge Raya in the heart of Taormina—and it turned out to be the perfect way to wind down. Tucked into the lively streets of town, Raya had an effortlessly cool vibe with warm lighting, great music, and a welcoming energy that made us feel instantly at ease. To our surprise (and delight), one of our kite instructors turned out to be a friend of the owner—so we had a great conversation starter and felt right at home from the moment we sat down. The food was pure Sicilian bliss: bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and dishes that made us linger over every bite. The cocktails? Let’s just say they flowed as freely as the conversation. We definitely left with full hearts—and a little wobble in our step The staff’s attentiveness and charm brought everything together. Raya wasn’t just a dinner stop—it was a highlight of our trip. We’re still talking about it, and we’ll definitely be back. We told the staff that we would like to give them a nice review, life is busy, but we never forgot. Sorry for the late review!

The food was amazing. Great service as well. Love all the flowers, lemon trees and the rest of the natural vegetation around. Highly recommended. Giovanni was our server, he was great at explaining all dishes and made some awesome drinks.

Absolutely perfect food all fresh. Didn’t try to over sell us the most expensive wine etc etc. Lamb shank sous vide 5 hours then oven cooked hard to beat. Canola pistachio outrageous Xx
